Interior Environments

Hotels sell themselves based on their interior environment. Luxury hotels and resorts give guests the opportunity to live in an extremely nice place without having to put any effort forth. Most hotels use warm, inviting colors and panoramic views to create a more relaxed vibe.

Shopping malls are designed with many things in mind. The walkways have two things that they must do - keep the shopper comfortable, and keep the shopper interested. By having very open areas, this mall is designed to allow shoppers to be able to see almost all of the shops on the same floor as them, on the floor above them, and the floor below them, by simply standing and looking around them.

This luxury bathroom combines dark woods with luscious greens and golds to create a very traditional, luxurious feel. The bathroom gives off a relaxing vibe and would make most anyone feel right at home.

A successful restaurant is a restaurant that can deliver both great food, and great design. Butter, a New York hot spot, combines a variety of different surface textures, lighting techniques, colors, and geometry to create an intimate, enjoyable dining experience.

Everything about the Georgia Aquarium is geared towards education. Everywhere you turn there is another opportunity to learn something new for people of all ages. The design of the aquarium is very beautiful and flowing throughout the exhibits.

10 Buildings

The Mode Gakuen Tower in Tokyo, when finished, will house the Mode Gakuen School of Design. The building has been nicknamed the Cocoon Tower, and rightfully so as it does resemble a cocoon. I like the shape of this building and how it has the inset areas. It gives the building a lot of character.

The Westin in Times Square is a great addition to the already loud, vivacious vibes running through Times Square. The colors used and the angles make this building stand out amongst the other high energy designs surrounding it.

The Georgia Aquarium is a really cool building. The lighting design which can be seen at night, is amazing. The building is dedicated to educating people about the ocean and other aquatic habitats and does so very well.

Scotts Tower in Singapore which is under construction, looks like a group of floating towers. I like the look of the building because it has a kind of weightless feel to it.

The Louis Vuitton store in Paris, France has huge replicas of their current handbags and luggage collections on the exterior of the building. I think this is a very good marketing strategy. They sure are getting a lot of publicity.

The Hearst Building in New York City is the first Gold LEED certified Green building in New York. I think the building is very cool looking. the angles of the building not only look cool, but help save energy as well.

The Taipei 101 building in Taipei, Taiwan is currently the tallest building in the world. I think it looks like a series of blocks, like the ones that children play with, set on top of each other. It also looks kind of like a robot. It looks as if it's wearing some kind of belt.

The Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai is a beautiful hotel atop a man-made island. The look of the building is very exotic, and like the Sydney Opera House, mimics the surrounding water.

The famous Sydney Opera House. I think this building is very beautiful. The sails of the building remind me of the water which surrounds it. I think the building fits its surroundings very well.

I thought this was pretty interesting. These three buildings, all built in the 1960's, are part of a Navy base in Coronado, California. The building on the right is the most obvious of the three, it's shaped like a swastika, the Nazi symbol. Then you look left and see two other buildings built to the same scale as the swastika building. They are supposed to be two airplanes (enclosed in brackets) going to attack the swastika building. Honestly, I think the world could, or even should have been spared of this humor.

Model-N-Box

I think this was Josie. I like this one best because I didn't have to draw a face, and I'm still horrible at drawing faces. I think I was pretty successful with showing how her hair was done.

Zach. This doesn't look anything like him. =\

Phil. This kind of actually looks like him! Well, to me it does anyway.
